Which Bell Tent Size Is Best For Me?
Share
When looking for your perfect bell tent it’s important to know which size works best for your needs. With bell tents being an investment in a luxury tent made of high quality materials; you need to make sure the size is right.
Bell tents come in a range of sizes, choosing the right one can be daunting so we’ve put together some tips to help you choose.
How many people do you camp with?
The first thing to consider is how many people (or pets!) share your tent? Are you a couple with a cockapoo? Or a family of six? A group of friends or a solo traveller?
3 metre tents work well for solo travellers who want a bit of luxury. Our 3 metre tents are pitched using a frame rather than a central pole which gives you more room and choice of bed set up.
If you’re a couple then a 4 metre tent works well as it sleeps 2 people with plenty of room for bags, belongings and pets.
If you’re a family of four then a 5 metre would suit you well. This tent sleeps 4 people with room to spare for playing board games or having a picnic if wet weather strikes.
Some customers choose to size up to allow more room for stoves and seating.
What do you want to use your bell tent for?
Bell tents are amazing to sleep in but are great for a range of activities.
They make great kids play tents during the warm summer months offering some shade or a great garden space to relax and read a book.
Bell tents also work well for retreats, yoga and meditation spaces.
5 metre tents are very spacious but Emperor bell tents & Touareg Tents can fit groups of up to 20 seated for workshops or retreats.
What time of year will you use the tent?
If you’re going to be using the tent in the cooler months then you might want to fit a wood burning stove. All our tents can have a stove fitted to keep you warm and cosy during the cooler evenings.
You might want to choose a larger tent so you have room to start and keep your fire going.
Who will be pitching the tent with you?
Bell tents are really easy to pitch but the larger sizes do require more than one person. One person can pitch a 3 metre or 4 metre comfortably on their own but for the larger sizes you’ll need another person to help.
This is worth bearing in mind if you’re on your own with young children who might be able to help handing you things but might not be strong enough to lift the tent.
